A poster design series created for The Great Dumbo Drop, a fundraising event in New York City supporting public schools and students excelling in STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math). This one-of-a-kind event invites participants to donate by “adopting” a Dumbo figurine. Thousands of mini Dumbos parachute from rooftops, and where they land determines the winners of prizes from local businesses. In my design, I sought to capture the event’s whimsical yet meaningful essence—the joyful spectacle of parachuting Dumbos contrasted with the weight of supporting children's education. To express this duality, I combined bold, heavy typefaces with soft, airy bubbles and scattered compositions, evoking both gravity and lightness. The result is a visual identity that reflects the dream-like aspirations of young students and the tangible impact of community-driven support.
